I want you to remember a sound,
thunderous explosions against the bodies of mountains,
sheets of ice
cracking and sliding off in violent showers,
enveloping life below in its
whiteness.
I want you to remember a sound,
the undoing of the zip of your tent,
the first ray of light burning your eyes,
the dawn chorus bringing new blood in your skin.
I want you to remember a sound,
the sunset calling the sea waves, their musical bubbling,
their rise,
their fall,
their folding and unfolding,
and foam touching your feet.
I want you to remember a sound, the crackle of gravel under your heel.
I want you to remember a sound,
water gurgling in your throat,
water
sliding down your chin,
water moist along your collar
and cool on your warm skin.
While you are here I want you to remember the sound of your own
voice,
a sponge for voices of every life you encountered and did not
encounter,
every eye that followed you and did not follow you,
every piece of music
that touched you and did not touch you,
every mind that remembered you and did not remember you
and every heart you won and lost.

ReplyDeleteDrink some Margaritas by a string of blue lights
Listen to the Mariachi play at midnight
Are you with me, are you with me?
And hurdles we'll witness,
DeleteTireless journeys we'll face,
In your direst of days,
Oh I'll be there, I'll be there,
Just right beside you...
Standing firm
Deletewe live
we give
we take
we learn
we strive to make sure
each day enlightens us
and brightens us
even as light fades to gray
may we keep fighting
with two swollen feet
beneath the body and soul
experiencing trials
and intense life lessons
meshed with stresses
may we persevere
turn off fear's song
may we stand firm
as we glide along
through shifty winds of change
that may cause things to sway
rearrange
but we hold true
inside the values and morality
we stand for
we
fall for nothing
we
may stumble along the trip
we
may swerve at the wheel yet
we
do not lose our grip
because no one
can eclipse the sun
yet
everyone heals
before they're done
And so will we,
DeleteShine brighter in glee,
Gay in harmony.
Two souls collide,
A swift swirl swimming into another,
Two hearts surpass the beats of the Gaia.
Our bootsoles will leave their mark,
Together we will cross borders -
Beyond dimensions,
Our footprints shall live permanently.
I should like to rise and go
DeleteWhere the golden apples grow;--
Where below another sky
Parrot islands anchored lie,
And, watched by cockatoos and goats,
Lonely Crusoes building boats;--
Where in sunshine reaching out
Eastern cities, miles about,
Are with mosque and minaret
Among sandy gardens set,
And the rich goods from near and far
Hang for sale in the bazaar;--

We will, we shall...
DeleteThe time is near,
The bell beckons us.
And in her smile I see something more beautiful than the stars
DeleteIn his smile,
DeleteI witness,
The stars in us.
I want to tell you something true,
DeleteBefore you fly away,
When nights are darker through and through,
You turn it into day.
The world can be a lonely place,
It’s deathly cruel and blind,
And yet the look upon your face,
Reminds me that it’s kind.
Love is a complicated feeling,
It can send your head reeling.
No one knows how love forms,
Or why is causes emotional storms.
But the heart can tell no lies,
And love never dies....
